Applying for a Reception Place at ​Heron Hill Primary School 

How to make an application for your child to start at our school in September 2025.

• Read Westmorland & Furness Council's booklet ‘Starting School in Cumbria – September 2025’, available on the council’s website at www.westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk.  Alternatively, a copy is available to view at the school. 
• You may apply either by completing the on-line application form on the council’s website or you can download an application form (SA1) from the county council’s website, ask your preferred school for a form or contact the School Admissions and Appeals Team school.admissions@westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk - and they will send a form to you. 
• Return your completed form to your preferred school by the closing date of 15th January 2025; it is vital to get your application in on time as there is less chance of getting a place at your preferred school if your application is late.​

We would like to invite you to visit our Reception Unit and the wider school, meet our friendly staff, and take the opportunity to view our exciting and rich environments.  We are holding Reception Open Sessions on Tuesday 5^th November (9.00 am-11.30 am), Thursday 7^th November (2.00 pm-6.00 pm) and Saturday 9^th November 10.00 am-11. 00 am.  These will be drop-in events – you can call in anytime during the sessions. If you would like to visit on an alternative date, please contact us.
