ABOUT US

Our Vision, Ethos and Values

Heron Hill Primary School is a special place where everyone is welcome, learning is fun and memories are made. Primary school is an important time for your child. Not only academically, but also in terms of building character, learning how to nurture positive relationships and exploring talents and interests. Our children get one chance at their primary years; we have to make them count!

Heron Hill is a school blessed with ample outdoor space and is a community built on our three school values: respect, responsibility and relationships. We keep these values front and centre of the decisions we make, the curriculum we provide and the experiences we offer.

To enhance the curriculum, every year group plans several visits each year and we regularly have exciting visitors to school.  Children in Years 4, 5 and 6 enjoy residential visits each year and we try never to miss an opportunity to join in other events in and around Kendal.

Whether children join us at the beginning of their primary journey (in our on-site Nursery) or whether they join us in a later school year, everyone is welcomed here with open arms. Our pupils enjoy the responsibility of supporting new children to settle into life at our school so a 'buddy' is guaranteed!

I am extremely proud to be the headteacher of Heron Hill Primary and thoroughly enjoy meeting parents, carers and family members. The best way to see if our school is the right fit for you is to come and see us in action. I welcome visits to school and always look forward to touring school with prospective families. Our friendly school office team are on hand to answer any questions you may have or to book in visits so please do not hesitate to contact us. (For parents new to Nursery, you will find much more information here.)

I hope that you will find our school website informative and that it gives you a taste of life in our school. You can also keep up to date with current happenings in school via our school X/Twitter page: @heronhillschool

We look forward to meeting you soon!
