Parent Communication
Home-School Communication
Parents and carers play a vital role in the education of their children. At Heron Hill Primary, we value the input and immense knowledge that parents and carers have about their children - no one knows your child better than you!
Our staff are on hand to support in any way we can when things are happening for your child. We welcome your insights into their education, personal, social and emotional wellbeing. The class teacher is always your first port of call but should you need them, our leadership team are also on hand to meet with you, speak with you and most importantly, listen.
Keeping the conversation going...
- If your child is ill and will be off school please contact the school office, by telephone or e-mail before 9.30 am.
- If your child has a medical or dental appointment during school hours, please give your child's teacher or the school office notice. If you have an appointment letter or card, please show it at the office.
- The school cannot authorise term-time holidays. We do not provide work for children who are taken out of school on term-time holidays as this is not an effective substitute for the face-to-face learning that they will miss during their absence. School adopts the Westmorland and Furness attendance policy and expects leave request forms to be completed in a timely manner. This should include detailed outlining of any exceptional circumstances (e.g. funeral, sporting event).
- ParentMail is our main communication platform and we endeavour to send minimal paper copies of school letters as part of our Eco-schools status.
- We will formally ask for parents' comments and opinions at various points in the school year via parent/carer questionnaires, but welcome feedback at all times.
ParentMail PMX
Heron Hill School uses ParentMail PMX as its home-school communication system. If you would like to receive e-mail and text messages from the school via PMX, please contact the school office. |
